It seems like there is never enough time in the day!

So let's recap:
August 20, 2011: was my Bethel, #34, and Bethel #108's Official Visit. The theme was Hollywood! The girls did an amazing job!! Favorite quote of the day by Markanda (Jr. Miss Congeniality), "Cause you can't spell Movie without "OV".

August 27, 2011: was the Carnival at Englewood Lodge. There were so many people there and I really think that we promoted Job's Daughters well! I got to be in the dunk tank and dang those little kids really liked to dunk people! They lined up and went over and over again with each new person that entered the fateful tank! It was truly a great day!

September 10, 2011: was Bethel 121's OV in the morning! They did a wonderful job and thank you to the girls and adults that traveled and helped fill in stations! After that we traveled to 107, 99, and 86's Official Visit. It was a great ceremony and it was Mahaley (Miss Congeniality's) Birthday! 17 wooo!! :]

September 11, 2011: Masonic Home day! The Grand Bethel table was hopping with customers! We did face-painting, hair-dying (washable of course!) and sold cotton candy! From what I could tell the day was well attended! The cross was beautiful and thank you for all the girls that changed into robes to participate.

September 23-25, 2011: Job-a-Rama! It was a hit! Thank you so much to Tara and Jamie who made it all happen! On Friday night we went on a hike which I think should have been promoted as "skilled hikers only" hahah :] The hike was hard but a lot of fun! On Saturday there was a kickball tournament and I'm very happy to say that Sophie and I, along with Bethel #53 won it! Grand Bethel also beat the Grand Guardian Council (not surprise there, just kidding)! The Jobie-2-Bee Honor night was a hit! I hope that all of our J2Bees wear their tiaras and sashes this year and for years to come! The skits were amazing too!! Unfortunetly I had to leave Saturday night and wasn't there on Sunday, but I'm sure that church was great! :]

October 1, 2011: I was sitting at Carmel High School taking my SAT's and was not able to attend Bethel 27 and 8's Official Visit :[

October 8, 2011: was Bethel 5's Official Visit. I had the privelage to do Honored Queen, and the girls did amazing on their parts. Lynell I believe that you still owe me cookies? haha :]

October 9, 2011: Go to Church Sunday at the Masonic Home! Unfortunately it was not as well attended as it has been before, but thank you so much to the girls that did come! I know that those at the Masonic Home really appreciated it and it probably brought back some beloved memories to some. The Soups Cook Off was after church and the theme was around the world! Bethel #34 won Judges Choice, Popular Vote, and the Bethel Award for our soup! It was a macaroni and cheese soup! It was delicious and if you want the recipe it is on the bulletins page! GO 34!! :]

October 15, 2011: was Bethel #44 and #54's OV. They did a Majority Ceremony for Leslie Bailey. I can't believe that LB is a majority member! I love you! :] The girls did a good job and the cake was awesome! It had pictures of Leslie and of the Bethel on it and it was fun to reminisce about memories :] It was good to see a large crowd come all the way up north for the OV. Nice traveling skills everyone!

October 22, 2011: Coronation Ball!! It was wonderful! There were a lot of people there and it was fantastic to see a good number of Demolay there too. Congrats to Brittany D. from Bethel #107 for winning Corn Ball Queen and Bekah C. from Bethel #22 for winning Jr. Corn Ball Queen! You girls did a wonderful job! Anyways Corn Ball was so much fun, I mean how can dancing not be? Thank you Lori Pitt for making it such a good dance, I know that at the very beginning stressed was an understatement, but everything worked out and it looked beautiful!

October 24, 2011: was Bethel #2's Official Visit. They did initiation and congratulations to Harlee for being the newest member of Indiana Job's Daughters (that I know of)! The girls did awesome on their parts and were almost all word perfect! Keep up the good work!

I think that makes me all caught up! Sorry if anyone had withdrawals from me not blogging, but I'm back, have no fear! This weekend is Bethel #22 and 110's OV and Bethel # 53, 37, and 32's OV, hope to see you all there!! :]

Love,
Carolyn Winebar, MIJD 11-12

Job-a-Rama!

I hope that everyone is planning on attending Job-a-Rama this year at Bradford Woods! If your bethel will have Jobies-2-Bee at JAR this year please let me know as soon as possible! I would like to know how many to expect so that the misses and I get enough gifts!

Also remember to make a Bethel Skit! Hahah :] I guess it is more of a midwest game. Anyways, after hanging out with some awesome Indiana people we went to dinner at Red Robin. Brittany and I took another picture of people with their families on their cars! Seriously, why do people do that? So many past grands were at the dinner and it was nice to catch up with people while getting to know the Supremes better. That night was full of laughter because I helped Bobbie, Brianna, and Kristi help make Randy a Facebook. He was amazed at everything that you could do! My favorite quote of the night was when he asked "What does it mean to be a friend?" hahha :]

Sunday we were supposed to go to the Fairgrounds, but didn't because of the stage collapsing the night before. Keep everyone who was there in your prayers, especially the families that lost loved ones. Instead of the fairgrounds we went to Circle Center Mall and did some light shopping. We ate at Johnny Rockets and the Supremes loved when the waiters and waitresses danced while we ate. After the mall Stephanie dropped us off at Lori's house and we headed over to the Mother Jacob's Room. They were all astonished about how much Job's Daughters history we have in that room. I guess I always assumed that everyone had rooms like this, but they obviously don't, which makes me appreciate ours so much more! We then ate at the Hard Rock Cafe downtown and Bobbie was super excited because it's her favorite place to eat. The funniest part was when Brianna, Kristi, and I all order lemonade to drink and the exact same dinner.

Monday morning they all left bright and early at 6am! It was sad to see them go because it was such a fun weekend, but I know that they have to get ready to go on their next visit!

Remember that Saturday, August 20th is our first Official Visit! Please everyone plan on attending because there is going to be some great food and the theme is Opening Night! Wear your fanciest suits and dresses! I hope to see everyone there!

Much love,
Carolyn Winebar, MIJD 11-12

Uh oh!

Sorry for not posting sooner about the Grand Master's Reception and Grand Bethel Get-Away.. I was in the middle of typing out this long thing about how Becca and I almost died twice on the way to Bloomington and I left for my bethel meeting and when I got back home my internet was closed down because my dad had used the computer.. So now I am a little defeated and unfortunetly am not going to be redoing that super long story.. Bummer. The Grand Master's Reception was full of fun, laughs, and good food. We had edible orkids on our plates for dinner and some didn't believe that I would eat it, and guess what I did? I proved them wrong! It tasted like salad without dressing, not very appeasing, but not altogether awful either. Maddy and Tiffany then eat their plants too.. Well we really had to coax Tiffany into hers, but she was a team player and ate it :] As I said before after dinner Becca and I headed to Bloomington for GB Get-Away, and some words for the wise, never follow Becca's directions.. We ended up going the wrong way on 465, stopped at a unlegit gas station (where they smoked behind the counter), almost traveled down a scary black road surrounded by corn on each side (straight out of a horror film), and went on a seasonal road that of course was semi-flooded.
All in all it was a crazy, adrenaline filled weekend!

Job's Daughters Love,
Carolyn Winebar, MIJD 11-12

Supreme Session

Wow what can I say? Supreme Session this year was a blast! I am very sorry for not updating everyday, but I found out that I was a lot busier than I ever planned on being! Most of my days were spent doing ritual competitions, Miss International competitions, eating, short spurts of sleeping, and hanging out with some amazing Indiana people! I would like to give an especially big shout out to Bethel #22!! They rock my socks! You girls were the best to hangout with and I want to give a huge congratulations to all the Indiana girls who swept up the arts and crafts and ritual competitions! I have no problem bragging on Indiana because you girls did awesome! I met some spectacular girls while competing for miss international, and made friendships that will last a lifetime. On that note, I'd like to thank Indiana for being such an amazing jurisdiction and for all of your love and support at Pageant this year. I hope that I represented you well at Supreme and I feel very lucky to be able to be your Miss Indiana this year. I can't wait to see everyone as I travel, and I hope that all Grand Bethel Sponsors, Past Sponsors, and Members are signed up to attend Grand Bethel Get-Away next weekend. If not I do hope to see everyone at Englewood Lodge for the Supreme Visit on August 13th!!

*Indiana Trivia Question!
Did you know that the girls in Indiana are extremely musically/vocally talented?
--Answer: They are! We won 2nd place in the choir competition! So we were there in perfect time! But guess what, that wasn't the end of Brittany and I's struggles. We parked at the back of the building and decided to take a side door. Very intelligent on our parts :] Anyways so we walk in, and we decide to go left down a hallway, which then proceeds to lead us all the around the building, up and down numerous sets of stairs, and it never seemed to end. Finally we found the front and it was a relieving feeling! We were concerned though that we would never find our car again! So when we left, we took another side door and walked right out. We then realized that this was the same door and if we had just walked straight instead of left, we would have been at the front immediately! Hahaa! It was embarrassing, but hilarious! Anyways, the ceremony at opening was very nice, and I really liked how they break up introductions throughout the night.

I had some favorite quotes of the evening and one was said by the Jr. Past State Master Counselor from Kentucky "It's great that you have so many Job's Daughters here to support you because down in Kentucky Job's Daughters are a rare and interesting breed." Hahaha!
The other funny quote was said by a Dad giving out scholarships after the Past SMC from Kentucky gave his remarks. "Times have changed because back in my day we were never allowed to say Job's Daughters and breed in the same sentence!"

Brittany, Andrea (from Rainbow), Nathan (the incoming SMC), and I all took a picture together at the reception, and I am very excited for what the coming year may hold for all of the Masonic Youth together! Demolay Conclave was extremely fun, full of laughter, and good times! Congrats to team "Oink" who won the competition on finding the most of what everyone did wrong! Thanks for everyone staying for lunch and for Job's Daughters Jeopardy after! There was some stiff competition and I am happy that everyone got involved and did their very best. Sorry for some of the more difficult questions under the categories of Music Ritual, Bylaws, and Landmarks! It was not as well attended as past SOI's but the group had some really good questions. There were only two daughters there in competition for Job and both seemed hesitant to go after him, but at the end there was a little race for him! The ride home seemed almost unexciting except for the ongoing battle I played with the sun.. The visor was not long enough and the sun just seemed to be barely beneath it. To say I was frustrated would be accurate. Although I tried wholeheartedly to fend off the sun it did win the ultimate battle and I was just left there to brood. I also recommend that you never get a drink from the Arby's in Muncie, it tasted like sewage! It was awful! But oh well, what can you do? :]

Yesterday was Rainbow's Formal Opening at their Grand Assembly in Columbus. It was a long ceremony, but it was not without laughs! I must say that their drills in the beginning were amazing! I absolutely loved them! I wish we did something like that at our Grand Session. The girls who did the tributes to the flags did a wonderful job and they all seem to be very proficient in their work. I sat next to Dad Chiles on stage and man did he keep me laughing! Quite the entertainer that one is! I was pressured into voting for the Grand Reps with him (illegally).. We weren't picked as judges, but after a little convincing from Dan, which came in the form of pens and paper, we cast our vote anyways! It was a fun and exciting night!

Fun little facts from Thursday:

**Do not, I repeat do not get your landscaping done by Vivid Scenery in Leesburg, IN because they almost drove Brittany and I off of the road! Cruel, mean people they are. Brittany and I debated calling their number that was on the trailer behind the car and complaining, but being the grown-ups we opted for glaring at them behind our sunglasses when we passed them eventually. :]

**Don't put your last name, how many children you have, where you went to college at, and what state you are from on the back window of your car. It is very easy to look you up on White Pages and Facebook!

That's all I have for now! I hope to see everyone tomorrow at ADSOI! :]

--Carolyn Winebar, MIJD 11-12

Yay!

I would just like to report that Bethel #34's initiation went extremely well tonight! Thank you so much for all of the daugthers who came to assist and the parents/adults that brought them. I am extremely impressed with the commitment that girls in Indiana have in supporting not only their own Bethels, but also Bethels around the state.

Here is a little list of those who helped:
*Leslie Bailey-GB Jr. Princess
*Sam G.-Bethel #68
*Katie T.-Bethel #68
*Cheyenne-Bethel #68
*Markanda-Bethel #108
*Natalie-Bethel #108
*Amanda-Bethel #108
*and Rachel-Bethel #108

Thank you girls so much, your assistance made it the best initiation possible for our new member Christina! But on to the most important part of this all, seeing all of the amazing Job's Daughters at the SOI. Again we had wonderful attendance, and it made me quite proud. :] Congratulations to Sidney for finding Job! You are now one step closer to having "twice as many world's goods as you had before" at Grand Session! To da Region, thanks for all of the hugs and hospitalities extended to us, I can't wait to come back for your Official Visit!

Tonight we were at the other end of the state. New Albany! I have to admit, my travel time was not as productive, but it was still a good time with Brittany. It may be repetitive, but I have to again point out the attendance rate! I am extremely happy that so many people are coming to SOI's because they are a great place to ask questions about your Bethel, Council, or what is happening on a state level. Job once again tonight was a hot topic! Just for a reminder, at every state event he will be there, and he will definitely be harder to find! Congrats to Victoria for finding, running, climbing stairs, and successfully retrieving Job before anyone else. It was very impressive indeed. :]

Although Job-a-Rama is in a couple of months, it is never too early to start planning your skits! Bethel skits, individual skits, and talents galore are welcome! Everyone better be in at least one, or else! Just kidding, but seriously. Haha :]

Well that is all I have for now, I hope to see everyone at Munice on Wednesday!

Safe travels,

Carolyn Winebar
MIJD 11-12

Help!

Bethel #34 is having Initiation on July 12th, at 7pm at the Sheridan Masonic Lodge, and we are in need of some serious help! We need all of the messengers, both Princesses, Guide, Marshal, Inner Guard, and Recorder. We were done in about 45 minutes, which is extremely impressive! It was hilarious when Katy the HQ of Bloomington found the traveling Job! She literally sprinted to get it and laughed so hard when she sat back down! There is going to be some fierce competition with finding Job this year, I can already tell.

Today we had another SOI in Fishers and I am very impressed with the attendance that we had. Thanks to all the Past Grands for coming, and for Vicki reminding me of my blog! :] I hope everyone enjoyed the suckers that Maddy handed out. The best moment of the night was when I asked everyone which way the Chaplain turns to sit back down and everyone shouted out to the altar! This was all fine and dandy until Maddy who was exemplifying it then proceeded to turn the wrong way! EPIC FAIL! :] At least we all know now that she will never turn the wrong way again! Congrats to Amanda from bethel #108 for finding Job tonight! Although I do think you had an advantage since you knew about the competition before others, but I guess that is the beauty in traveling, knowing things before other people!

I believe that is all I have for now! Maddy and I are off to hack Brittany's Blog!
